Océ has a long history of environmental awareness. The company was founded in 1877 in the south of the Netherlands by a chemist called Lodewijk van der Grinten, who invented a completely natural coloring agent for margarine so that everyone, not just the well-off, could enjoy something healthy and appetizing on their bread.
